Finding a job is challenging and takes time - get advice
- Your resume should contain information about all work and volunteer work you’ve done and anything you did before you moved to Australia, if you're new to the country.
- The job application should include a letter (maximum 1 page) plus your resume. See attached letter and resume template for examples.
Get ready for your job interview
- Practice your interview with others before.
- Never be late. If you are then call them immediately.
- Switch off your phone during the interview.
- Dress neatly, shake the interviewers hand at the beginning and end, and always look them in the eye to show you are listening.
- If you don’t understand anything, ask.
- Ask them a few questions about the job, e.g. how many people work here? What do they expect from people who work there?
